Universiti* = University*

Malaysia's "leading research university is called "Universiti Putra Malaysia," and so the word "universiti" must mean "university."

In linguistic terms, the decodification of cognates such as this is also known technically as "picking the low-hanging linguistic fruit." But, I hear that Universiti Putra Malaysia is an excellent university. It certainly has an excellent website, in Malay and English.
